Q. 안녕하십니까? 업무에 노고가 많으십니다.
본인은 약 25년간 해외에서 생활하고있는 동포이며 병역의무자의 아버지로서
다름아닌 아들이 금년 징병검사 대상자라는 통보를 현 한국 주소지 주소지를통해 통지문을 받았습니다.
아들이 태어난 후 줄곧 지금까지 해외에서 거주하고있으며
가끔씩 여름 방학때 한국을 방문 약 두달씩 머물다왓으며 해외에서 현재 고등학교에 재학중입니다.
아들의 경우 해외에서 줄곧 18년째 생활 학생입니다.
이런 경우 징병 검사는 자동으로 연기되는지? 아님 재학증명서를 광주 병무청에 제출해야는지?

Q. Inquiry on overseas resident’s conscription examination.
I am an overseas resident who has lived abroad for about 25 years. I recently received a letter of notice through my Korean address that my son has to conduct physical examination for conscription this year. My son has lived abroad ever since he was born, and during the summer vacation, he sometimes used to visit and stay in Korea for about two months. Now he is in high school.
My son is a student who has lived abroad for 18 years. In this case, is his conscription examination automatically delayed? Or should we submit his proof of enrollment to the Gwangju Regional Military Manpower Administration?
